Neuromuscular therapy is a targeted form of manual therapy used to address specific pain patterns. It is often relevant when pain keeps returning because the underlying pattern has not been resolved, not simply because a muscle is “tight”.
What neuromuscular therapy targets
Sessions may focus on factors such as:
- trigger points and referred pain patterns
- local tissue sensitivity related to reduced blood flow
- nerve irritation contributors (where appropriate to manage in a manual therapy setting)
- postural distortion and repetitive overload
- biomechanical stress from sport, work and daily habits
What to expect
We start by clarifying symptoms and relevant history, then assess key movement patterns. Treatment is hands-on and specific. You will also leave with simple, realistic rehab,self-care exercise advice programs (movement or loading changes) to help hold progress.
